1990, I was a sophomore in high school. I was still trying to figure myself out, hah I still am. I didn’t belong to clubs, didn’t make any teams, and the doors of rejection frequently swung open. But we had this show. A fairy tale of the new kids and the cool kids with limitless bank accounts, great cars, great clothes, and great hair. And let’s not forget, a cool place to hang out after school.
In my parallel universe, nothing was the same.
Once I got my license, I started my pre-90210 froyo ritual. I would run over to TCBY, get something drenched in hot fudge, and be home in time to catch the latest episode of 90210. In the most unreliable way, it spoke to me… my escape. My fantasy world of what high school should have been for me.
disbih was always on your team, rest in power, Brenda.
